Clinical Partnerships Manager
Get cardiologists referring patients into Australia's first clinically proven cardiac rehab platform. Field-based, Sydney or Melbourne. For someone who builds relationships and follows through.
Sydney or Melbourne
$80,000 - $90,000 + super + commission
Cardihab is Australia's first clinically proven digital therapeutic platform for cardiac rehabilitation. The research is public: Cardihab participants lived longer, healthier lives, with better value healthcare than usual care.
Here's the problem this role exists to fix. Almost nobody gets referred into cardiac rehab at the moment it would help most. Patients get picked up afterwards, via hospital billing data, then cold-called. Cardihab is flipping that by going direct to cardiologists and getting the referral to happen at the point of procedure, so rehab is organised as part of the treatment.
Part of what has held referrals back is how painful they are to do. Every health fund has its own form, in its own place, asking its own questions. Cardihab has built a referral portal that replaces all of that with one simple form that works for every fund. There's no cost to the patient and no cost to the clinic. The health funds pay.
What's missing is someone who can get in front of cardiologists, make sure they know this exists, and stay close enough that it's top of mind on the day a patient is sitting in front of them.
That last part is the job. Cardiologists get nothing for referring. No commission, no fee, no commercial reason to do it. What there is: a program that measurably helps their patients, and a referral process that now takes minutes when it used to take a form hunt across ten different health fund websites. Cardihab has genuinely made this easier than it has ever been. The gap between that and referrals actually happening is a person keeping the relationship warm and following up until it becomes habit.
What you'll be doing
Getting in the front door with cardiology clinics, cardiac nurse units, GPs and hospital teams across your state. Most of them don't know the program is available to their patients at all.
Running walkthroughs and demos of the referral portal, in person, on site, repeatedly, for busy clinical staff who have about four minutes for you.
Making the clinical case for referring, using approved, compliant messaging.
Staying in front of your clinics after the first meeting. The referral only happens if you're the name they think of when the patient is there, which means going back, checking in, and being useful.
Following up on referrals that didn't come through, understanding why, and removing whatever got in the way.
Working out where volume is low because people don't know, versus where it's low because referring still feels like effort, and fixing both.
Keeping your activity and pipeline accurate in the CRM so progress against targets is visible.
What we're looking for
You build relationships that go somewhere. This role needs both halves: the warmth to be welcome in a clinic, and the persistence to keep going back until referrals are actually coming through. Plenty of people are excellent at the first half and stall at the second. The measure here is referral volume, not meetings held.
You're comfortable asking clinicians to change how they work, with nothing to offer them except that it's better for their patients and easier than what they're doing now. That's a real sell, and it takes someone who believes it and will say it more than once.
Beyond that:
A self-starter. You can walk into a clinic cold, open the door, and come back until something happens.
Experience in a sales, business development or field sales capacity, comfortable working to targets and keeping disciplined records.
A track record of growing a territory or client base from scratch.
Enough health understanding to navigate clinical relationships and referral workflows.
Persistence with slow-moving, risk-averse stakeholders.
Existing relationships with cardiologists or affiliated disciplines are a strong asset, not a requirement.
Experience in digital health helps. Real interest in it counts for a lot.
Location and travel
Based in Sydney or Melbourne, working your local metro area, with regular trips to Tasmania to support the Tas Health program. While you will work from home, you'll need to be out to see our referral base.
Why Cardihab, why now
Cardihab is small enough that your work is visible and consequential from day one. The culture is practical and outcome-oriented. The team is distributed across Sydney, Brisbane, Tasmania and the Philippines.
The people who do well here are comfortable with ambiguity, take initiative without waiting to be directed, and are genuinely curious about healthcare. If you want to own something meaningful and see it move, this is a good fit. If you need a lot of structure and hand-holding, it's probably not.
From the team: "We work with the majority of Australia's major health funds, we have a TGA-registered product, and we're delivering measurable outcomes for thousands of patients, but the surface area of what's still possible is enormous. More partners, new populations, richer data, better tools for clinicians. The roadmap is genuinely exciting and the decisions we make in the next two to three years will define what this company becomes."
