Program Manager
Own and scale Australia’s first direct giving programs to end homelessness. Lead people, systems and impact in a fast-growing, mission-driven team building something bold and real.
Melbourne | Full-time | In-office
We Are Mobilise exists to end homelessness in Australia.
Not manage it. Not make it more comfortable. End it.
We’ve built Australia’s first direct giving programs for people experiencing homelessness. In the past two years, we’ve supported over 1,000 people, partnered with 45+ charities, and raised more than $9M to fund new approaches that challenge the status quo.
We’re growing quickly. And we’re hiring our first dedicated Program Manager.
Why This Role Matters
Until now, our programs have been overseen by our COO and supported by the broader team.
That worked when we were smaller.
Now we need someone to take real ownership. Someone who can build systems, develop people, and ensure our programs don’t just grow - they improve.
This role sits at the centre of what we do.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Owning the day-to-day performance of our Direct Giving and Employment programs
Building stronger systems, processes and evaluation
Leading and developing junior team members
Using data to inform decisions and strengthen impact
Working closely with leadership to scale responsibly
You’ll be the person who turns complexity into clarity.
Who You Are
You likely have:
At least 2-3 years’ experience managing people
Experience running complex projects or programs
Confidence working with data and improving systems
The ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment
You care about impact. You don’t need perfect structure. You take responsibility and see things through.
You don’t have to come from the homelessness sector - but you do need to genuinely care about the mission.
How We Work
We’re a sub-10 person team operating more like a startup than a traditional charity.
We’re fast. We’re ambitious. We hold high standards. We work from the office five days a week because building something this important requires energy and alignment.
This won’t feel corporate. It also won’t feel slow.
If you want ownership, responsibility, and the chance to build something meaningful at scale, this might be for you.
Next steps:
If solving homelessness feels impossible but necessary, and you want to build the systems that help make it possible, we’d love to hear from you.
