Help Australians buy their first homes faster!

Aera is a Kiwi first-home startup helping everyday people get into homes sooner using behavioural science, coaching, and smarter property matching. We’ve already helped hundreds of first-home buyers across New Zealand. Now we’re launching in Australia, starting in Melbourne, and we’re hiring our first on-the-ground team member to make it happen!

This is a rare zero-to-one role for someone who has already helped people buy homes and wants to build something with real, lasting impact on how first-home buyers navigate the market.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the face of Aera in Melbourne, personally guiding our earliest Australian members from first conversation through to settlement.

• Coach first-home buyers through budgeting, borrowing, approvals, viewings, and decision-making

• Use Aera’s tools and behavioural coaching system to help members move faster and with confidence

• Curate matched home options and run property tours

• Support and strengthen early relationships with developers and builders

• Represent Aera in local communities, events, and first-home buyer circles

This is a founding operator role with high trust, high autonomy, and meaningful ownership!

Who This Role Is For
We will only consider candidates who have directly helped people buy homes end to end.
Ideal backgrounds include:

• Mortgage advisor or lending specialist

• New home sales consultant or advisor

• Buyer’s advocate focused on first-home buyers

You understand the full first-home journey, how lending really works, and the emotional weight of these decisions. You’re empathetic, commercially sharp, and comfortable operating without a playbook.

• Helping 20 to 30 Melbourne families secure their first homes in your first year

• Building a repeatable Melbourne launch playbook

• Establishing strong builder and developer partnerships

• Growing into an early leader of Aera’s Australian team!

The Details

• Location: Melbourne, hybrid and field-based

• Role type: Full-time, senior individual contributor

• Compensation: Competitive base, performance bonuses, and meaningful startup equity

• On-target earnings: ~$150k+

• Work rights: Must have the right to work in Australia
