Why this role exists

Demand is rising across both residential and C&I storage, and our roadmap now includes next-generation BESS and emerging V2G capability. We’re looking for a senior power systems engineer who can lift our inverter and grid-integration expertise, own AC and DC architecture decisions, and guide us through standards, certification, and compliance as we scale.

You will be the technical anchor for how our systems interact with the grid today and in a V2G future.

What you’ll work on

• Design AC and DC architectures for residential and commercial BESS

• Lead inverter and power-system integration across PCS, switchgear, protection, and EMS/BMS interfaces

• Run power studies including load flow, fault analysis, harmonics, stability, voltage control, and protection

• Deliver compliant designs aligned to AS/NZS 3000, 5139, 4777.1/2, 61000 series, IEC 62116, and DNSP requirements

• Prepare documentation for product certification, CEC approvals, and grid-connection submissions

• Work closely with mechanical, firmware, operations, and product teams to move designs from concept to production

• Support field engineers with high-level problem solving in the field

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering quality standards

What you bring

• Electrical Engineering degree with a power systems focus

• Eligible for Chartered status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia

• Around 8 plus years in power systems engineering

• Strong inverter and BESS background with hands-on experience in inverter-based resources

• Deep understanding of Australian grid codes, DNSP requirements, and certification pathways

• Confident leading cross-functional projects and shaping technical direction

Nice to have

• Postgraduate study in power systems or power electronics

• Experience with ISO 15118, OCPP, and V2G integration

• DIgSILENT, PSCAD, MATLAB, or ETAP modelling experience

• Exposure to microgrids or hybrid energy systems

Location and working style

Brisbane (Darra). Most days in the office with flexibility when needed. Close collaboration helps us move quickly.
