Business Development Manager (Tech + Retail Channel Expansion)
Melbourne preferred with hybrid working one day per fortnight. Sydney considered for exceptional candidates.

We bring them into Australia and New Zealand, shape their go to market strategy and place them in the right retail channels. We are not just suppliers. We are curators of innovation. Why this role exists
Our product portfolio is growing fast and the demand from brands to enter new channels across ANZ is increasing quickly! We need a Business Development Manager who wants to sit close to the founders and play a strategic role in how products land, grow and build traction here. This is not new brand acquisition. It is about unlocking new pathways for brands we already believe in and creating commercial momentum where it does not yet exist.
What you will be doing
Identify high potential retail and e commerce channels and build a compelling commercial story for each
Shape go to market plans that reflect product strengths, category gaps and retailer priorities
Generate and convert opportunities through clear communication, strong pitching and structured follow up
Build trusted commercial relationships with retailers and strategic partners across ANZ
Monitor performance and adapt quickly, partnering with the founders, Partnerships Manager and e commerce team
Represent Clever Gear at meetings, industry events and trade shows
Work with pace, curiosity and high responsiveness as priorities evolve!
Who this role is perfect for

You thrive in fast growing, high autonomy environments and enjoy building something that moves quickly. You communicate clearly, act decisively and stay curious when the path is not yet defined.
You likely bring
3 plus years in business development, commercial or channel focused roles
Experience in consumer tech or similarly product led retail categories
A genuine love for tech and an interest in how products succeed in market
Strong commercial instincts and relationship building skills
Comfort experimenting, testing ideas and adjusting fast based on feedback
Ability to travel as needed across Australia and New Zealand
