Sydney-based Microsoft Data & AI partner seeking a hands-on Pre-Sales consultant with Fabric or Databricks expertise to shape solutions, drive growth, and step into a 2IC role with equity potential.
Microsoft Data Pre-Sales Consultant (Microsoft Fabric / Databricks)
Open to Melbourne | Sydney | Adelaide (No other locations will be considered)
Remote-first, with occasional client and partner onsite time
Up to $150k base + super, plus up to $50k commission | Equity conversations on the table

This is a pre-sales role with real commercial impact. You’ll shape solution direction, lead client conversations, and operate as a trusted partner to customers, Microsoft, and the founder. It’s not delivery-heavy, and it’s not a step-up role for someone without real pre-sales experience.
What you’ll do
Lead discovery sessions, demos, and ideation workshops with clients and Microsoft sellers
Shape solution options across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Databricks, and Azure OpenAI
Produce POCs and high-level architectures that build confidence and momentum
Write Statements of Work and shape scope, assumptions, and estimates
Support revenue conversations and frame ROI in practical, credible terms
Build strong relationships with Microsoft and support co-sell opportunities
Operate as a trusted 2IC across pre-sales, partner strategy, and commercial direction
What you’ll need
Proven pre-sales experience in data, analytics, or AI consulting. This is not a step-up role.
Strong client-facing presence, including leading discovery, running demos, and shaping solution direction.
Credibility across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and Databricks at a solution and architecture level.
Experience shaping Statements of Work, scope, and estimates, and supporting commercial conversations.
Comfort working with senior technical stakeholders and C-level buyers.
Commercial judgment, clear storytelling, and the ability to operate with autonomy and ownership.
You don’t need to be a deep engineer, but you do need to be credible, trusted, and steady in senior client conversations.
